Showplace Market opened in Moore last June and word of their amazing affordable selection, friendly staff and tasty cafe treats spread like wildfire. Within a few months they had a waiting list for new vendors and a loyal customer following and the moment everyone has been waiting for is just a few days away. Their grand re-opening takes place April 1 during which owner Jenny Campbell will unveil another 40+ booths, a full festival for the senses! With new products coming like homemade bon bons, chic hand crafted home decor, kids’ boutique clothing and a Man Cave for the fellas, it will be hard to see it all in one trip…not that I won’t try! DDI clients always love everything I bring them from Showplace Market and I don’t expect anything different in the future. If I get tired of shopping I can hang out in the expanded Book Nook with my current read or get some work done with their free WiFi! Mark your calenders, call your girlfriends and empty out the car… you’re going to need all that room. If you have an event coming up you can even reserve their Book Nook for free! It holds up to about 50 people and is perfect for baby showers, Red Hat Society gathering, meetings, etc. Look for a few Designing Diva events to be held there throughout 2011!

Showplace Market has a lot going for it these days. Locally owned/operated, great location (about 2 blocks east of I-35/19th St exit), over 100 unique vendors and an expansion coming April 1st. As you all know Designing Diva loves to decorate clients’ homes with products found right here in our own backyard and lucky me, there are plenty of new treasures blooming all over the 9,000 sf meca! Below are some of my favorites for the home.

The 3/50 Project has been quite successful in its mission: to raise awareness of supporting local business. We’ve come a long way, baby. But with big box stores popping up in more and more small towns across the country our fight is far from over. Below are a few of my favorites for you Okies. Pop in, say hello and spend a few bucks to help keep an honest-to-goodness small operation thriving during the month of February (one of the slowest months of the year for retailers)!

People SAY they want to help support the local business
movement but let’s face it; that can be difficult. Searching out those smaller operations who have what you really want can be a chore. Designing Diva is proud to shop locally whenever possible and I have listed a few of my favorite shops within the OKC Metro that are owned and operated by people right here in your own town.
1) Cedarburg Square in Bethany, located across from Southern Nazarene University. Great home accessories, bedding and gifts!
2) Brecheen Brothers in Oklahoma City, located on W. Reno behind Mathis Brothers. Hot hot hot furniture items at amazing prices. Mind-blowing selection of rugs of all sizes and price ranges.
3) Showplace Market in Moore, located off of I-35 and 19th St. Vendor mall, over 100 booths of must-see treasures for the home.
