These lovely decor/jewelry items are here for one of two reasons: They were purchased in the hopes of being used in a clients’ home someday or they were rescued from being tossed because of their potential. There are also a few jewelry items that fall under neither catagory of course; these items I just fell in love with at market and decided to bring them back home for your shopping pleasure! Everything you see here is marked WAY below retail/market value and the taxes have already been paid so the price you see is the price you pay! If interested in anything seen here please e-mail me at Jennifer@decorateokc.net . Don’t wait– the two items that were listed yesterday have already sold!

Simple Decorating with Uppercase Living
submitted by: Jennifer 07/27/10Vinyl wall decals: Affordable. Trendy. Simple. Fun. Customized. For those looking to add some punch to walls, wood finishes, appliances, and countless other surfaces, these super addictive wall decals are the preferred solution.
I have been using these in clients’ homes for a few years now and recently ran into a situation that called for this very thing. My personal laundry room makeover consisted of grandiose visions- including hand painted embellishments on the cabinet doors. One problem: I. Can’t. Paint. I’m fairly certain that my 6 year old nephew could upstage me when it came to painting the design I wanted. After admitting defeat (it looked more like a hot pink abstract blob than a classic damask pattern) I ordered the french damask embellishments from Uppercase Living (www.uppercaseliving.com). In about ten minutes I had my fuschia laundry room… FINALLY! And if I should ever tire of the decals I can simply peel them off and throw away. They will not harm the paint finish.
I found another decal that had come free with my order that was also hot pink and said “Breathe”. I thought of where it should go. Well that was obvious- the living room, where everyone could see it and have a visual reminder that they could relax here; they were home. So I rubbed it onto a mirror I have sitting on a shelf and within one minute had created another custom piece that spiced up an old garage sale find.

7 Hard-To-Recycle Household Items
submitted by: Jennifer 07/14/10Better Homes and Gardens Magazine used a portion of their October 2009 issue to tackle solutions for your household items. Read on to get green and find a safe home for your unwanted items!
1) Appliances- Check with your local utility. If you’re upgrading to a more efficient model you may qualify for a rebate and free removal. If your old refrigerator doesn’t work check with your local waste management facility to have it picked up for a fee.
2) Tires- Ask about recycling when you replace your old tires. To recyle tires at home contact your local waste management service. Be prepared to take it to a disposal facility for a fee.
3) Electronics- Check the manufacturer’s website for mail-in or drop-off programs for their own products. To refurbish an older computer check out electronicstakeback.com.
4) Mattresses- If its in very good condition, steam clean it and donate it to a shelter (not Goodwill or Salvation Army which handles resale items). Your last shot could be at freecycle.org, an online exchange that offers a variety of items all for free.
5) Carpet- Ask your local retailer or installer to recycle it when it is ripped up.
6) Toiletls- Check with local waste management for the procedure in your area. Porcelain chips can be used for road paving and composite countertops!
7) Shoes- Donate wearable shoes to soles4souls.org or other charity. Take worn-out athletic shoes (any brand) to a Nike store for its Reuse-a-Shoe Program.

How mod is Oklahoma?
submitted by: Jennifer 07/10/10Oklahomans aren’t typically known for their tastes in modern furnishings; in fact, any new comer to our traditional state looking for sleek lines and the minimalistic approach to decorating will have a tough time finding retailers to accommodate. But what is that on the horizon…? Its hope!
You may wonder “How modern are Oklahomans really?” and the answer may surprise you. While those homeowners with contemporary or modern tastes usually range in the late 20′s-30′s age group, designers worldwide are creating mod furniture, accessories and fixtures that will appeal to a wide demographic. Designing Diva Interiors is paying attention. By staying on top of new releases in the market I am at the ready to provide my clients with the desires of their heart; from the colorful modular sofas to the monochromatic bedding, its all out there. Below are a few pieces brand new to the scene. I would love to know which piece is your favorite!!
The Magnus Olesen i-Sit. Ergonomic as it is smart. Created by Design Concern, it features a lumbar pillow and a user-friendly mechanism that adjusts the back and tilt. The shell is constructed of laminated birch, the upholstery is wool, and the tubular steel legs are chromed. Pair it with the complementary ottoman.
Moroso. Imagine a chair without a fixed shape but with infinite possible forms, ultimately up to the sitter to supply. In a counterintuitive twist, recycled aluminum provides the malleability, while the cotton canvas underneath ensures strength.
Ecophon Master Solo S fiberglass ceiling panels.
Leucos – Dracena. Dracena pendant with polished chrome structure and handblown glass in amber, amethyst, silk white, black, and red by Leucos.
